Service overview
Cash flow forecasting and budgeting look ahead rather than back. A forecast sets out the cash you expect to come in and go out over a period, while a budget sets out the income and expenditure you are planning for. Together they help you see whether the business is likely to have the cash it needs, and when.
At Accountant Bookkeeping Ltd, we prepare cash flow forecasts and budgets for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies throughout Bournemouth, Dorset, London and across the UK. The work is based on the information available at the time and on the assumptions we agree with you, and the results are presented in a format you can use for decisions.
Forecasts and budgets are estimates, not guarantees. They depend on the assumptions used and on trading conditions, and actual results will differ. Their value lies in setting out the expected position clearly, so that you can plan, monitor performance against it and adjust as circumstances change.
As an AAT Licensed Accountant, we provide cash flow forecasting and budgeting with transparent fixed-fee pricing and no VAT charged on our fees.

Why forecasting matters
A bank balance tells you where the business stands today. A cash flow forecast shows how that position is expected to change over the weeks and months ahead, including periods where payments out may fall before money comes in.
That visibility is useful in practical ways. It can help you time significant expenditure, plan for tax and other payments, decide whether there is room to invest, and identify in advance any period where additional funding or a change of plan may be needed.
Budgets work alongside forecasts by setting out what the business is planning to earn and spend. Comparing actual figures with the budget then shows where performance is ahead of or behind expectations, and where the assumptions behind the plan may need revisiting.
